Librarianship

Helen wearing a shark hat
One of the many hats I have worn.

As an information services librarian at the University of Windsor’s Leddy Library, I get to wear a lot of different hats. I’m currently liaison to the Faculty of Nursing, the Department of Psychology, the International Student Centre, and the Centre for Executive and Professional Education.

I’m passionate about information literacy and outreach. As Chair of the library’s PR committee, I have planned and implemented various events, including film screenings, de-stress activities for students during exam time, and pop-up libraries around campus. I have also led the library’s new social media initiative, which is designed to engage the campus community while promoting library services, events, and values.

I am involved professionally with CAPAL, the Canadian Association of Professional Academic Librarians. I am Communications Coordinator for CAPAL18, the upcoming conference which will be held in Regina, Saskatchewan this May. I am a committee member of the Education and Professional Development Committee.
