About Me

I’m a librarian, writer, and fridge magnet connoisseur living in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Canada.  In my spare time I haunt deserted cemeteries, lose my heart to dashing thieves, and crack tough cases, all from the comfort of my writing nook.  My short stories range from comedy to horror, with just a hint of dystopia in between.  To read about these short story publications, check out the My Writing page.  My debut novel, The Ghosts of Thorwald Place, will be published October 5, 2021 by CamCat Books.

I enjoy reading, writing, amateur photography, video games, travelling, and pretending to speak French.  I live near the waterfront, and I absolutely love finding a good spot outdoors to curl up with a novel or a notebook.

I’m most active on Instagram – so follow me on @powerlibrarian to connect about writing and books. I’m also obsessed with all things horror, and I have a separate account @helenvshorror.

I read widely, and I post my book reviews on Goodreads and on my book blog at https://powerlibrarian.wordpress.com.
