Helen Power is obsessed with ghosts. She spends her free time watching paranormal investigation TV shows, going on ghost walks, and telling anyone who’ll listen about her paranormal experiences. She is also an academic librarian living in Saskatoon, Canada and has several short story publications, including ones in Suspense Magazine and Dark Helix Press’s Canada 150 anthology, Futuristic Canada. The Ghosts of Thorwald Place is her first novel.

To celebrate the launch of my debut novel, The Ghosts of Thorwald Place, I’m running a selfie contest! My book features a ghost who’s tethered to the elevator of her apartment building, compelled to observe her twisted neighbors to try to figure out who killed her.

The Steps:

① Take a spooky selfie in an elevator

② Post it to your IG feed while tagging me @powerlibrarian and #ElevatorSelfieContest.

Submit it to me via email: info[@]helenpower.ca

Please note that even if you email the photo, it may be seen by people other than me! So keep it PG (as in, no full mooning for the camera. Gore is fine—and encouraged 😉)

Contest closes on Tuesday, October 5th at 6PM eastern.

Prizes:

There will be two winners!

All entries will be entered to win a draw for a $20 giftcard to a bookstore of your choice (This could be Amazon, Chapters, a local independent bookstore, etc.)

The winner of the most creative, spookiest, or funniest selfie will get a hardcover, signed copy of The Ghosts of Thorwald Place, themed book swag, and a few other Halloween-themed goodies. (Spirit of Halloween, here I come!)

I will choose the top 5 entries to be voted on at my Zoom launch party on Tuesday, October 5th! You don’t need to attend the party to win, BUT there will be several other fun contests to enter!

Check out this page for more information on the event, and to register.

I can’t wait to see the creeptastic pictures that you come up with!
