I’m delighted to say that my short story “The Turning of the Season” is published in the latest issue of Polar Borealis!
Polar Borealis is a Canadian magazine of speculative fiction, and issues are free to read online.
“The Turning of the Season” is a fairy tale reimagining with a hint of horror. I hope you like it!

Congrats!
Thank you!
Congrats! Didn’t know you were into writing too 🙂
Thanks! Yeah I love it! I’m still pretty new to publishing and promoting my work, but I’m loving it!
I wish you all the best then! You should checkout NaNoWriMo and Camp NaNo if you’re interested in getting a higher word count 😉 https://nanowrimo.org/
Haha yes I’ve done nanowrimo the last three years, and I’m doing Camp Nanowrimo this month! I love the November ones, but I’m finding the camp ones aren’t quite as motivating, probably because they don’t dominate all my social media. Are you doing it this month?
Yes, I’m doing Camp. I’m just trying to get a few short stories written and editing done this month.
That’s great! Good luck! I hope we’re both super productive this month 🙂
Here I thought I was in for Little Red Riding Hood! I was wrong! Great story, Helen! Your Uncle Alek told me about your new site and of the publication of your latest story. Well done! Kurtis
Thanks!
